Collegis Education Hosts First Higher Education Enrollment Growth Summit

More than four in 10 private colleges and almost three in 10 mid-size public institutions missed their enrollment and tuition revenue goals in 2016, according to a Chronicle of Higher Education survey. And the number of colleges that have missed both goals hasn’t changed much in the past four years.

To help institutions unlock the secrets of integrated enrollment growth management, Collegis Education hosted its first Enrollment Growth Summit Feb. 28-March 1, 2017 in Chicago. Representatives from 17 institutions located across the country attended the two-day summit to learn about key issues facing colleges and universities today as well as solutions for growth.

During the summit, attendees had the opportunity to hear from guest speakers from Google and Parthenon-EY. Key concepts at the event included the importance of digital marketing within enrollment growth strategies, the challenging landscape of higher education and how programmatic differentiation is critical to growth.

Dr. Greg Carnes, dean of the College of Business at University of North Alabama (UNA), also spoke to Summit attendees. Collegis partnered with UNA to develop a marketing and recruitment model for its graduate-level business programs. Dr. Carnes highlighted key strategies and the approach UNA took to revitalize the institution’s MBA program, which is now the fastest-growing MBA program in the Southeast.

Other sessions included:

  • The Evolving Higher Ed Landscape
  • Evolution of Enrollment Management
  • Evaluating Your Martech Ecosystem
  • Uncovering Growth Through Portfolio Management

Many of the sessions encouraged collaboration amongst attendees, allowing institutions to discuss growth opportunities in today’s challenging higher education landscape.

“The small group provided an environment for truly honest conversations about enrollment across all sectors of the academy,” said attendee Dr. Richard Barnhouse, vice president of Strategic Enrollment at State College of Florida. “The synergy between material presented by industry leaders and dialog within the small group of attendees provided me with a new comprehensive view of the emerging early 21st Century enrollment horizon.”

“We could not be more pleased with the caliber of the sessions as well as the level of engagement and participation from everyone at the summit,” said James E. Cowie, president and chief executive officer, Collegis Education. “As a leader in higher education marketing and enrollment growth management, Collegis is dedicated to sharing industry best practices, proven solutions to key issues impacting institutions today as well as continuing to innovate and bring forward solutions that positively impact the institutions we serve. We look forward to hosting our next summit in the near future and taking what we learned from attendees to make an even bigger impact.”

Along with its summit, Collegis hosts a monthly webinar series. Its next webinar, Widening Your Enrollment Pool with Content Solutions, is Wed., March 29 at 1:00 p.m. eastern. To learn more or register, please visit http://collegiseducation.com/webinars.
