Susan Hammerstrom brings 25 years of experience in enrollment growth management and student services leadership to the Collegis Education team. Drawing on an extensive background in college admissions and marketing, Hammerstrom helps partner institutions identify opportunities for growth and student engagement while creating a memorable experience across the student lifecycle. Previously, she led admissions initiatives at Rasmussen College, creating its Department for Student Experience and Training as the school grew into a regional leader in both online and campus-based higher education.

What have you learned about higher ed over the course of your career?
Regardless of how different we think students are according to traditional, nontraditional, generationally, etc., they all want the same thing. They want to know we care, and that a college admissions team will connect them with the best information in order to help them make a smart, informed choice about which institution is best for them.
What does a Saturday afternoon look like for you?
I love to have people in and entertain. In the winter, a typical Saturday involves cooking and preparing for guests to arrive. In the summer, however, you’re more likely to find me reading on our pontoon boat.
Favorite technology used outside of work:
I regularly ask Alexa for a joke of the day, especially dad jokes. And I love to cook. So, I love having 3-4 Alexa timers going at the same time.
