Higher ed is especially vulnerable to cyberattacks. Each week in 2021, education and research institutions were targeted by an average of 1,065 cyberattacks. That’s 75% more than in 2020.
Cyberattacks can come in many forms and countering them requires the participation of the entire institution – faculty, staff and students. Proactive institutions are adopting the “zero-trust” (ZT) architecture approach that favors creating a cybersecure culture rather than relying on any one device, program or practice. After all, cybersecurity is everyone’s job – not just IT’s.
